Keeping a Small Craft Kit Easy to Use
A useful craft kit contains the supplies you can identify and use, with enough organisation to make starting a project straightforward. It does not need to hold every possible tool.
Group materials by the activity they support. Keep small parts in labelled containers and protect delicate items from being crushed. Store sharp tools and other potentially hazardous supplies securely according to their instructions and your household’s needs.

Give unfinished work a clearly identified place. Include a short note explaining where you stopped and which materials belong to it. This makes returning to a project less dependent on remembering an earlier session.
Review the kit after completing a few projects. Replace what is used up, remove unsuitable material and avoid adding equipment without a purpose. An orderly kit should reduce the effort of making something, rather than becoming a separate project that consumes all your available time.
