This, these, that ve those İngilizce’de belirli bir nesne, kişi veya yerin belirtilmesinde kullanılan sıfatlardır. Bu sıfatların doğru kullanımı, hem İngilizce konuşurken hem de yazarken oldukça önemlidir. Bu sıfatlar, nesnelerin yerlerini veya miktarlarını belirleyerek cümleyi daha anlaşılır hale getirir.
This ve These
This ve these, yakın bir nesne veya kişi için kullanılır. This tekil anlamda kullanılırken, these çoğul anlamda kullanılır. Örneğin:
– This is my pen. (Bu benim kalemim.)
– These are my pens. (Bunlar benim kalemlerim.)
Bir diğer örnek:
– This book is very interesting. (Bu kitap çok ilginç.)

That ve Those
That ve those ise, daha uzak bir nesne veya kişi için kullanılır. That tekil anlamda kullanılırken, those çoğul anlamda kullanılır. Örneğin:

– Those are my friends over there. (Şunlar orada benim arkadaşlarım.)
